Description for luxury vehicle MATCHLESS G50 500 HISTORIC RACE BIKE

Time for another of my toys to go. This is a G45 frame, I could not read all of the frame number as it is under the tank, with a Collin Seeley G50 number 61/1872 engine fitted. The frame has been converted to post 58 specs and the engine was originally in a Seeley Condore. The engine was then fitted to Alan Pucket`s AJS 7R and was raced by Jim Scaysbrook beating Mike Hailwood on a Manx at Amaroo park. The engine was then sold and fitted to it`s current frame. The main non period part is the rear wheel which is a modified Conical Triumph. I have had and raced this bike with a lot of success for around 16 years and it has been a very good bike scoring many placings and I have always kept it on 19" wheels, low pipe and no fairing so that it actually represented the period it was being raced in. It is currently in road trim on club rego and is a very good road bike. I have fitted slightly higher swan neck clipons to give a more comfortable ride. I used it at a track day fairly recently at Wakefield Park and rode it on a club run last weekend and it performed both tasks very well. It is still on methanol and can be kickstarted but you need to get it right. It comes with a lower compression piston and all the jets required for petrol. It is currently running a MK3 Commando 4 speed gear set with the closer mid ratios so I could use a kickstart but comes with the 5 speed Quaife set and outer cover. Also comes with full range of sprockets. I will also be listing a Swallow Seeley Mk3 replica fitted with a George Beale 7R and 6 speed box soon. Will ship worldwide at buyers expense.
