Description for luxury vehicle Norton Commando 1975 MK 3 Electric Start

1975 Mk 3 Norton Commando
This highly restored example of the Classic Electric Start Commando is for sale by a private owner.
As the owner is not overly computer literate, I am listing it for him. I am very familiar with this particular machine, and can answer any questions on his behalf via eBay.
Australian Delivered, with a previous long term owner, who upgraded the bike many times over the years, culminating with a major restoration only 500 km ago. A move to a more modern motorcycle saw the bike transition to a new owner, who has only ridden the bike on a few occasions. The current owner has owned the bike for just over 9 months, but circumstances now dictate the sale of the bike.
Previously powder-coated. Clean and tidy, with the vast majority of fasteners and fittings redone at refurbishment.
Front end overhaul with new tubes, bushes seals, etc. All new sealed wheel bearings. New swingarm bushes and pin.
All new isolastics.
Rebuilt through-out, with crank having been recently done, new mains, pistons, valves, FULL AUTO Cyl Head (cost of the new fully assembled head in total approx $4500), oil pump, cam (Std) and cam bushes, cam chain, etc.
New Heavy Duty shell, all 8 gears, new Main and Lay shafts, bearings, etc. This area alone was approx $4000.
Starter system re-fitted with new Sprag, Drive gear, and Sprocket, 4 Brush Hi-Power starter (Dyno Dave), Barnett Clutch, Primary chain, Stator, etc.
As-New Tyres.
Braided brake lines, with re-sleeved front m/cyl for better performance, all stainless caliper pistons with polished caps.
Black coated stainless brake lines.
Re-wired. Brand new switchblocks.
Tri-Spark ignition, leads, etc.
New Mikuni single carb conversion.
Stainless spokes.
The original KPH speedo was retained, and it does have a blemish on the bezel.
The motorcycle is currently registered in Qld. So as to represent equal value to all buyers, irrespective of location, the motorcycle is being sold unregistered.
The cost of refurbishment alone is far greater than the asking price, let alone the value of the bike to begin with.
The cost of the engine rebuild, FULL AUTO cyl head, gearbox and primary overhaul was around the $15,000 mark.
Please view the pictures carefully, as they form a major part of the description.
Like most people, I am a busy person. If you feel this would be a good bike for you, please feel free to make contact. If not, please just look elsewhere.
The motorcycle is unregistered.
No warranty.
Prompt payment please.
Any transport cost is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
