Description for luxury vehicle Mr. Norm's 1969 Hemi Charger 500 - Original Engine, Trans! Two broadcast sheets!

Among the factors that drive the significance of any
collector car are rarity, condition, optional equipment, documentation and
history. The car here, an aerodynamically restyled Charger 500, meets every one
of those criteria, with minimal ownership, original numbers-matching Hemi
driveline, comprehensive restoration, and a proven Mr. Norm’s Grand-Spaulding
Dodge pedigree. In general, the opportunity to own any example of this model
comes up infrequently; the opportunity to own a Charger 500 of this grade could
be considered once-in-a-lifetime.

Released as a 1969 model very late in 1968 to
legalize components for Grand National stock-car racing at the 1969 Daytona
500, these cars were produced from standard Charger R/Ts by Chrysler using a
subcontractor. By adding a flush grille and rear window, the hope was to make
the cars more manageable at speed, but this change required a minimum of 500
street examples be created to legalize the new parts. As a result,
Grand-Spaulding Dodge in Chicago, one of the most exciting new-car retailers of
the muscle-car era, took delivery of this T5 Copper-painted model with black
wraparound Scat stripe and powered by a 426 Hemi. The original engine is still
in this 14,500-mile vehicle, backed by the A727 automatic and Super Track Pak 4.10:1
rear gearing; the only significant change from stock are the headers installed
by Mr. Norm’s mechanics before the first owner took delivery. The car has been
more recently subject to a comprehensive frame-off restoration. Sporting bucket
seats and console, Hemi-mandated power steering and brakes, and riding on
15-inch wheels with dog-dish hubcaps, the car has stunning curbside appeal
inside and out.

Two broadcast sheets are just the start of the comprehensive
paper preserved for this car by only three owners during the last 45 years. The
original Chrysler-to-Mr. Norm's invoice, Day 2 sales invoice from Mr. Norm's,
window sticker, bill of sale, Illinois legal paperwork including title
application and more will be included, as well as a set of period drag slicks
and racing photos. Recognized already in the hobby, with a first-place American
Performance at Ault Park Concours d'Elegance and inclusion at the Mr. Norm's
50th Anniversary Collection at MCACN in 2014, you will not want to miss out on
the chance own this wonderful and rare Hemi-powered NASCAR-bred muscle car.
